Folder Bedroom: Industrial Chic

I love this combination!!! An industrial space with red brick walls painted white, huge beams in the roof and exposed pipes in the wall, furnished with some eclectic pieces can be transformed into an elegant room with strong personality... Perfect!

What do you feel when you see this wonderful view? It is in Karpenisi, one of the thousands places worth seeing in Greece... Personally, when I am in an amazing place like this I recharge my batteries and I feel that I have the strength to face the difficulties of everyday life! I could spend lot of hours sitting in this stone chair and gazing at this magnificent view, waiting for the sun set behind the mountains....

Sunday Morning Tales

One of the places worth visiting in Greece is Monevasia, a floating fortress, known also as "Gibraltar of the East". A castle town full of old mansions, ornate Byzantine churches, cobblestone streets, impressive arches and coats of arms... Every single corner of this little medieval town indicates its glorious history letting the visitors feel like they participate in their own fairy tale!!

Folder Bathroom: Wood & Cement

A unique bathroom idea!!! You can mix modern with rustic in order to have an amazing result... Use raw wood to construct furniture of modern lines and place them in a cement "environment"! I find lovely the idea of an island in the bathroom where the sink will be placed...

Dream house in just 35s.m.

Today I'm going to present you a sweet, tiny, traditional country house of 35s.m., in Peloponnese, Greece. It is entirely constructed by stone by the local workmen, so as to be harmonized with the natural surrounding and the rest houses of the village.
As it is mostly, a weekend summer house, the owners where interested to have a spacious and functional outdoor which could host a lot of people all day long. They built an exterior kitchen with a traditional oven, bbq and a 3 meters long dining table with plants in its middle, perfect for gatherings with friends.... And for those who would like to take a rest in the middle of the hot summer days, a dreamy traditional metallic bed with a mosquito-net is waiting them in the backyard's tree shade...Ohhh, the best place to sleep...believe me!!!
I love also some smart decoration details, such as the use of the barn doors instead of the classic shutters, the repurposed chair which is used as a shelf in the outdoor kitchen and the little round chalkboard table!
What do you think about it?

Casa Olivi

Today we are going to admire a great restoration in Italy... The architects Wespi and de Meuron achieved to transform an old farm into a modern temple of  less is more! They respected the building and they highlighted its unique beauty using natural materials as terracotta tiles, red brick, cement and raw wood so as to be harmonised with its fantastic surroundings, whereas they choosed modern piecies to decorate its interior and exterior spaces. I found perfect the combination of the inox island in the kitchen, in front of the stone wall.

Home in Melbourne

An amazing red brick house in Melbourne, designed by the owner Emilio Fuscaldo of NEST Architects... It is so simple in design but you feel that it is a space full of character, with a bit of a mid-century feel! It is constructed in reclaimed red bricks, with hardwood details, timber door frames and polished concrete throughtout. Its strong advantage is the North orientation and the floor to ceilling openings which allows loads of natural light enter inside.

Sunday Morning Tales

Spring is knocking our door finally...!!! As the first days of February the weather was warm enough, almond trees were in blossom and they offer us beautiful images, as they decorate with their flowers  the countryside. I love so much their sweet smell... I think that today I will bring some branches at home after my morning walk!

Lovely Country House in Spain

Some days before I gave you a little sample of this amazing house... Do you remember that serene living room with a cozy hanging chair near the built in library? Here there are some other photos of the whole place! I believe that this is my dream house... Constructed by a stone shell, with wooden wide openings, cement floors, exposed beams, a cozy fireplace and surrounded by a lush garden seems to me as the ideal place for a family to stay... What do you think?

HOME OFFICE: Industrial touch

A simple in design home working area, but so inspired that you feel you can spend there a lot of hours, even if you have finished your work. The red brick wall with the light construction by metal and plywood which is used as storage area, gives a magnificent industrial touch to the space! I like also the L-shaped plywood countertop which offers an enormous working space, ideal for all of us who are involved with design or handcrafts and we are in need of a lot of space....

Folder LIVING ROOM: Serene Atmosphere

I love so much the spaces that exudes serenity and this living room seems to be like this! Built with a combination of natural materials like stone and wood so as to feel close to nature, with a lot of windows which allows the sun to illuminate and warm the space with its sunrays and tastefully decorated with simple in design pieces which serves perfectly the owners' needs. A built in library occupies much of the stone wall  and in the center of the space a cozy white sofa and a leather armchair are waiting the owners and their friends in order to offer them moments of relaxation! I already imagine myself  sitting in that marvellous hanging chair reading a book and relaxing after a hard week... Have a wonderful weekend!!!
